LANSING, MI — It’s been three months since anyone has won the Mega Millions jackpot, leading to the drawing on Tuesday, Dec. 10 to be worth $619 million. If someone were to win the grand prize tonight, it would be the tenth largest jackpot won in the game’s history.
The estimated cash option for tonight’s drawing is worth $293.6 million. MLive will provide results of the drawing shortly after it takes place at 11 p.m. EST.

The last time a Mega Millions player won the jackpot was on Sept. 10, when the Sol Living Trust of Sugar Land, Texas won an $810 million jackpot. It’s been a relatively uneventful year for Mega Millions jackpot wins in 2024 as only three jackpot have been claimed this year.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70; the Mega Ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Breakfast Club lottery club which claimed a $842 million jackpot in June 2024. The members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.
And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a Mega Millions winner worth $1 million sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
